National Life Foundation Donates $200,000 to the Champlain Housing Trust

Montpelier, VT -  (July  9, 2018)  The National Life Group Foundation granted $200,000 to the Champlain Housing Trust to fund the renovation of the Old North End Community Center.

The Center is a historic building that currently houses several nonprofits from across Northwest Vermont. The current tenants include Robin’s Nest Children’s Center, the Family Room, Burlington Parks & Recreation Department, and AALV - an organization that helps new Americans integrate into their communities.

 The Old North End Community Center is viewed as a safe, inclusive gathering place where diversity of all kinds thrives. An estimated 4,000 people access the services and programs in the building annually, providing a resource for young and old alike, new Americans and long-time residents, and people of all incomes. The Old North End is one of the lowest income neighborhoods in Vermont and it sorely needs an updated community center. The funds provided by National Life Foundation will go towards making this happen.
