Sandra RowcliffeMontpelier, VT (May 14, 2020) - A nonprofit dedicated to the promotion of mental health awareness, wellness and recovery was presented a $7,500 donation to honor the work that an agent from National Life Group’s partner agency, ValuTeachers, has made to the organization.

The Mental Health Association of East Tennessee provides noteworthy early intervention programs, client services, and advocacy. The National Life Group Foundation made the contribution in the name of Sandra Rowcliffe, an agent with ValuTeachers, one of National Life’s affiliates.

Blumberg was chosen from among 80 nominees as one of the winners of the company’s annual Agent Do Good Awards, which are made to National Life agents whose commitment to helping nonprofits in their communities stand out.

“Sandra’s leadership has opened many doors for the Mental Health Association of East Tennessee, including ensuring Knox County Schools (the 3rd largest district in Tennessee) is the MHA’s greatest partner in our school based mental health outreach programs called Mental Health 101 teacher training program,” her nominator wrote.  “Sandra worked behind the scenes with administrators and policy makers to make Mental Health 101 a mandatory program at middle and high schools in the district. This leadership has led to Mental Health 101 being taught to 34,000 students annually at 119 schools. The result is reduced suicide contemplation & planning (30%) and decreased attempts (57%) while increasing the number of teens engaged in treatment by 453%.”
